Foot Surgery

Podiatric surgery is the surgical management of the bones, joints and soft tissues of the foot and associated structures. A Podiatric Surgeon is a highly skilled clinician. In addition to a first degree in Podiatric Medicine, Podiatric Surgeons continue their studies to Masters degree level.

I have been involved in the Podiatric Surgery field for over 30 years and have undertaken over 10,000 surgical procedures. Throughout this time, I have worked at Hillingdon, West Middlesex University Hospitals, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and currently for St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation.

Many foot problems that occur respond to non-surgical treatment, however, some are best treated with podiatric surgery, especially if you have a persistent and painful condition.

Foot problems for which surgery can be offered:
  • Bunions
  • Hallux Limitus - Osteoarthritis in the big toe joint
  • Toe Deformities e.g. Hammer/Claw Toes
  • Neuroma
  • Soft Tissue Lumps & Bumps e.g. Ganglion, Fibroma
  • Joint Pain
  • Stiff Joints
  • Recalcitrant Painful Corn Lesions
  • Nail Deformity/Infection

During your first visit, an assessment of your complaint is made. An opinion will be given regarding management options including non-surgical and surgical. If there is a need for diagnostic tests and imaging, these will be explained. Patients may forget to ask a question during a consult, therefore, please don't hesitate to contact me as I will be more than happy to answer your question fully.
